If at first you don’t succeed, never give up Many important lessons are learned from failures. After reading this article, the trips you take back to the drawing board will seem shorter and easier, maybe even like a trip to the beach. We can't always be winners the first time around. It takes a while to learn, to experiment and to fine–tune. We often get frustrated; we may even entertain giving up because of the idea of failing. But, as the saying goes, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." And the tough sometimes go back to the drawing board several times before getting it right, before they reach their goals and can celebrate their successes.Jawwad Ahmed Farid, FSA, is one of the tough ones. He says that going back to the drawing board is what true success is all about, and that failure, with the comparative isolation it can bring, is a great time to re–examine your life and to decide if this is what you want out of it."A total system reboot is also a good opportunity to take an inventory of your resolve, your commitment and your drive to succeed," says Farid. "Failure is a more discerning and forgiving teacher than success. Ounce for ounce, you come out leaner, meaner and wiser.A successful entrepreneur, Farid sincerely believes that failing or falling short sometimes is essential to personal growth and attaining success."At heart I am a builder and making companies is what I am wired to do best," he says. "The reasoning and the logic don't matter. What matters is that given enough time, enough attempts (failures if you will), a little cash and a lot of heart, most entrepreneurs finally manage to figure it out. The ones who make it are the ones who keep trying until they do." |
Appearances can be deceiving Sometimes Looks can be Deceiving as saying goes by" You cant judge a book by its cover". But seriously, we can never really tell about a person from what you merely see in the outside. Looks can be deceiving. Sometimes people are judged by the way they look without thinking that finding a person with good heart is more important than finding a person with the right look. At certain times I am honestly guilty too about sizing up people on the basis of external appearance. But now that im getting older doing so doesnt feel right anymore. Along with it also comes the acceptance that while not all of us are visually stimulating this isnt something that showed being a person to the pits of despair. Most likely, one might just be even more gifted with something else, Intelligent perhas, An excellent singing voice or a razor sharp with. Like everything in life, no one has it all. we all have our strengths and different weaknesses. We all are gifted, special and unique. Its up to us to appreciate what God given to us. we dont need to be everything for everyone. Besides there will ALWAYS be peole who will take us for who we are and these are the PEOPLE who are trully matter.. As a rule of thumb says " TREAT EVERYONE AS YOU WOULD WANT THEM TO TREAT YOU"... |
Good manners are an important value to learn Most experts will tell you that teaching good manners and respectful behavior all starts at home. Parents need to show their children how good manners are appropriate and should be followed.A lesson that many parents forget, is that they need to model what they want from their children. In other words, parents need to be watchful in what they say and do with each other in front of their children. Most children learn my imitating what they see. If you and your spouse are low and angry, your child will assume that is normal and mimic those behaviors themselves.Parents need to sit down and explain to their children what is expected of them concerning good manners, however if the parent is not reinforcing it with good manners themselves, the effort is useless. By showing your child good manners, you reinforce the expectations you have for your children. |
Modern life is impossible without travelling and transport Modern life is impossible without travelling. Thousands of people travel every day either on business or for pleasure. They can travel by air, by rail, by sea or by road. Of course, travelling by air is the fastest and the most convenient way, but it is the most expensive too. Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see much more interesting places of the country you are travelling through. Modern trains have very comfortable seats. There are also sleeping cars and dining cars which make even the longest journey enjoyable. Speed, comfort and safety are the main advantages of trains and planes. That is why many people prefer them to all other means. Travelling by sea is popular mostly for pleasure trips. On board large ships and small river boats people can visit foreign countries and different places of interest within their own country. It is very pleasant to see the rise and fall of the waves, to feel the fresh sea wind blowing and hear the cry of the seagulls. Trips on the Volga, the Dnieper, the Yenisei, the Black Sea are very popular today. Many people like to travel by car. How to change my life for the better? If you want to change your life in the best side then do the following steps:1.Think about why and how you want to change your life. 2. Pick a starting point. Your outlook on life, your inside or outside. Family, friends?3. Talk to family/friends. Ask them what they like about you what they don't. Keep the good qualities and try to lose the bad ones.4. Change your outlook on life. If you think your life sucks, then do things you love to do to make your life positive. (GOOD THINGS ONLY, NOTHING BAD!!!).5. If you are in school, study hard so you can pass classes, with really high GPAs, so you can go to the college you want, or just to college at all.6. Don't spend your money on junk such as candy, chips etc. Save it for important things and emergencies7. Make your parents happy, which will make you happy.8. If you want to, keep a journal and just write or sketch things when you are bored. Also, when you are doing something you might think of something you won't want to forget write it down express your feelings!9. Try to look happy.10. Be nice. |
Can money make a person happy? In reality money is what brings the happiness. Lots of people are saying that money can't bring happiness because you will have fake friends and fake lives or whatever, if you have friends before you get rich or hit the lotto would they then be considered as fake friends? I don't think so, and why would anyone be naive enough to fall for a fake friend and not notice. Some say the love and happiness will be fake but so what? That person is still happy right? I'm sure no one will be happy living in a dump or the streets. Take a homeless person for example, do you guys think they are happy where they are at? No food and no shelter and no where to go. Lots of people say rich people have a bad rep, there are millions of rich people and I'm very certain at least one of them don't. Wouldn't you want to get all you're loved ones the things they desire and see them happy? Wouldn't you want to get you're son or daughter a nice car or get you're daughter or girlfriend a beautiful dress? Yes those are all just luxuries that fulfills ones desire. To obtain happiness is to obtain ones desire. There are many wealthy people that have died happy, everyone just looks at the ones that didn't. Money "CAN" buy happiness. |
Family of the futureThere are different families: big and small, with both parents or with only one parent, with children or without them. Some families are happy, some are not.As for me,I want to have a big family. And though we are a close family sometimes I feel down sometimes because I have neither a brother nor a sister with whom I can share my teen`s secrets, go to the disco, ask for an advice and help them if they are in trouble.I think in my future family there will be two pairs of twins. They will have the same inerests and won`t be bored together. They will be sporty, clever, friendly, helpful as we are. my mum and dad willlive with us too. We`ll live in a big cottage with a flower garden at the front and a fruit garden at the back. All together we`ll work there and have a rest on weekends with our chilldren`s and our friends. We`ll have a car to show our children all the beauty of the world and make new friends during our travellings.I also have a dream to take a child or even two from a children`s house.I`m sure my dream`ll come true, my husband won`t be against it because he`ll be very kind, careful and children-loving.like me.I know we`ll be the happiesr family in the world. |
When you hear the final whistle The article is headlined "When you hear the final whistle”. It tells about successful sportsmen who have to retire after their eventful life. At the opening of the article the author asks such questions as - when should a sportsperson retire and what should he do when he retires. After that the journalist cites quotations of people connected with sport. A sports psychologist Ian Cockerill and the US jockey Eddie Araco, both of them insist that there is a high risk for sportspeople of depression on the score of loss of status, recognition, the glamour. Then the author illustrates his ideas by examples of famous sportsmen. A lot of them have a dismal end. The first one, Michael Jordan, retired several times and ended in failure in an inferior team. The second one, Muhammad Ali, having retired after losing to Trevor Berbick three years later developed Parkinson’s disease. The third sportsmen, Jimmy Greaves thinks that a lot of players would prefer to be shot once their career is over. However this situation has good cases, as Franz Beckenbauer, who won everything with his club, John McEnroe, who became a highly respected and highly paid TV commentator. |
Can your position in the family affect your personality? I have always been interested in this as well, but I have found a few differences.... The firstborn I agree is always the best behaved, and quite intelligent, but I have noticed more times than not the second child is usually the most outspoken and rebellious one. Which is the complete opposite of what you have so I am probably completely wrong!!! The third is often the more easy going and affectionate one. I have no idea if this has any merit whatsoever, but I do find it very interesting. I do think birth order has affect on some behaviours such as dealing with others and attention-seeking habits, but most personality traits are inbuilt! |
